FAQ
The worst outcome for an iPhone or iPad user when they are taking pictures or videos is to run out of memory and get the dreaded “Out of Storage” notification from Apple. Due to the iPhone and iPad’s design, there is no way to insert a MicroSD card for more storage, so the only options are to frantically delete older pictures and videos, remove high capacity Apps, or just stop taking any more pictures or videos. If none of those solutions sound like a credible resolution, then there’s a 4th option, use the iXflash Live Recording feature.
When you take photos or record videos using iXflash’s Live Recording feature, they are saved directly onto the iXflash device instead of taking up any internal storage on your iPhone or iPad. This allows you to capture far more photos and videos without the fear of running out of space. Additionally, the iXflash app's recording feature allows the user to switch between front and back cameras while filming and includes a pause/resume function, enabling you to create a single, seamless video file instead of multiple clips. Plus, it has a dark mode to save battery life and not disturb those around you when filming. Don’t let your iPhone or iPad’s storage limit prevent you from capturing every beautiful moment!
Whether you're a casual documenter of life or a professional photographer, iXflash offers a variety of storage capacities— including 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB—to meet your needs.
With the iXflash Cube, Your Backup Companion, if you know how to charge your smartphone or tablet, then you can also perform a back-up! Simply connect the iXflash Cube in between your charging adapter and the device’s charging cable, and then it will automatically back up all of your photos, videos, and more effortlessly.
With a user-friendly app interface, you merely setup once, and the rest is automatic. From then on, every time you charge your device, it automatically backs up your contact, photo, and video content. It’s so simple that all people, old and young, can use it with ease. Let iXflash Cube take care of your backup needs in the simplest way possible.
Having been in the storage industry for years, we know that there are countless memory cards on the market, but their quality varies greatly. Even well-known brands don’t always guarantee reliability. If you use a low-quality microSD card, it could cause data corruption and irretrievable loss of content. To protect users from catastrophic risks, iXflash and iXflash Cube are designed with tested high quality built-in microSD cards, making them an all-in-one solution.
How do we ensure quality?
As a professional storage device manufacturer, we have developed specialized equipment to rigorously test and inspect each product. Through strict quality control and full inspections, we ensure that iXflash and iXflash Cube deliver high performance and stability, providing users with a seamless and worry-free experience.
Apple users may be familiar with the HEIC format.
When you take photos or videos on an iPhone or iPad, especially with Dual or Multi-lens cameras or when Live Photos is enabled, the files are saved in the HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) format. This is an advanced compression technology developed by Apple that significantly reduces file size without sacrificing quality. Without this compression, videos would take up a huge amount of storage, quickly filling up your device’s memory.
However, Windows does not natively support HEIC compression. When you transfer files directly from an iPhone or iPad to a Windows computer, the system automatically converts HEIC files to a JPG or MOV format, which decompresses them to their larger original file size.
So, the reason your backup files appear smaller isn’t that we’ve reduced their size—it’s that the original iPhone/iPad files are already optimized for storage. If you also have a MacBook, you’ll notice that the file sizes there match those on your iPhone/iPad.
Want to keep the original file size on Windows?
Go to Settings → Photos, find the "Transfer to Mac or PC" option, and change it from Automatic to Keep Originals before transferring files to your computer. This will ensure that Windows receives the files in their original size.

When you back up a photo from an iPhone or iPad in its native HEIC format, it will not be visible on a Windows or any non-Apple operating system (OS) unless they use a conversion software. Understanding that Apple’s photo and video formats are not natively compatible with Windows, the iXflash and iXflash Cube include an option to convert all backed up photos and videos to a more compatible format, like JPG, during the backup process. By enabling this option, you can ensure that your backed-up photos will be accessible easily on a Windows-based computer.
For videos, the backup retains the original HEVC (H.265) format used by iPhones. However, Windows' built-in Windows Media Player does not support this format. To play these videos, you can download a compatible media player, such as VLC or KM Player, which fully supports HEVC playback.
